"One on one? Shouldn't everyone put their fate in their own paws, rather than in the paws of one cat?" meowed a new voice.
Everyone looked up to see a large, dark grey tom with a golden-flecked pelt gazing down on them curiously from a tree branch.
"Who in StarClan's name do you think you are? You don't smell like a Clan cat!" Eagletalon snarled.
The new cat narrowed his amber eyes at Eagletalon before leaping down from the tree branch and replying, "My name is Sun That Shines Through Trees, or Sun if you prefer. I am cave guard for the Tribe of Diamond Rock."
His gaze turned to Leaf and he meowed, "You know, you're very pretty. What's your name?"
Stormclaw blinked in surprise, this cat was very straight-forward. Star looked at Sun, he really liked this cat, and he could feel an air of calmness emanating from him, relaxing him. He looked around at the others and could tell that they felt it too.

Leaf looked away. "I'm Leaf. And Sun I am as hard to catch as a eagle for you cave guards." Leaf said and began to walk around him. Shadow watched leaf and sun. " Sun what would you understand of what's going on?" She asked him

"That's good, i wouldn't things to be too easy, Leaf," Sun purred. "Anyway, Shadowstar, I may not understand too much, but what I do understand is this: our destiny, or fate, or whatever you want to call it, lies in our own paws. If everyone wants to fight, just let them fight. Don't make them put all their fate into one cat."
As much as Blackheart didn't want to admit it, Sun was a wise cat. But, as he watched him look at Leaf the way he was now, he felt an upsurge of protectiveness for Shadowstar and moved closer to her. He didn't want Sun eyeing his mate the way he was eyeing Leaf.

Leaf purred. "I wont be that easy sun. " And leaf darted into bushes and up a tree. Shadow watched sun and her so called sister play around and then she saw blackheart move closer to her. And she nudged his muzzle. "Sun i am not letting their fate in my paws, im putting my own."

"If you're not letting them fight, then that's pretty much the same as trying to put their fate in your paws," Sun replied, watching Leaf carefully.
Sun looked the tree up and down before springing onto the branch Leaf was on.
"I like a challenge, Leaf. I think you'll be more fun than I though you'd be," Sun purred, looking at Leaf warmly.
Star felt a pang of grief as he watched them, he and Sootpelt used to be like Sun and Leaf were now. Eagletalon, however, lashed his tail angrily, this cat was wasting their time!

Leaf walked o the edge of the branch and jumped to the next tree. "Come on sun, I challange i am are you up for it?" She asked him with amusment in her purr. Shadow looked at her warriors. She saw that eagle was getting angry at sun. She turned her head towards sun and remarked. "Sun if you wish to play with Leaf then quit wasting our time. Right now time is rare." She turned to star and everone else. "Fine get ready for battle this wont be easy." She told then and walked off to her clan.

Sun looked at Leaf for a moment before springing up to the branch just above her. He looked down on her and purred, "When did you get so far away?"
Sun turned his gaze to Shadowstar and replied, "Life is short, Shadowstar. You must enjoy it while you can."
Star flicked his ear anxiously and meowed, "Hang on, a problem like this should involve all the Clans. Where is TigerClan?"

"if they are to lazy to deal with this proble we should handle it on our own. " shadow told him. She turned to sun "sun life maybe short but when you realize what really matters you will never have enough time for everything. "she told him. Leaf looked at sun "when you let me get this far." and she jumped down. "and sun she is right you know. Sometimes you don't notice what really matters till it's gone." she added to shadow

Sun twitched his ear before jumping down and landing next to Leaf.
"That's why you must live life to its fullest, and spend as much time with your loved ones as you can. Because, you never know when everything you hold dear to your heart will be taken away... that is one of the cruelest lessons that the mountains teach you," Sun replied, his eyes shining with grief and sadness.
Star felt a pang in his heart, Sun was right. Star vowed to himself that, when this was all over, he would spend as much time with his kits as he possible.

"I know my fate, but do you truely know yours?" Leaf asked sun. "I must leave, i am going with your group Star if that is ok with you." Leaf asked Star and wited wided eyed for an answer.

Star nodded and replied, "As Sun said, our fate is in our own paws. If you want to come, you may come. If you choose to leave, no one will think lesser of you."
Star looked around at all the other cats as he said this and nodded solemnly when none of them moved.
"I know my fate, Leaf. It is to go with you, to make sure Blood is vanquished forever for what he plans to do," Sun replied, eyes blazing.

"Thank you Star and Star." Leaf bowed and ran to her den in the wood on the border of the clans. Shadow was almost to her clan when she stopped. She sniffed the air and quickly hunted before going back.

"Very well, we all meet at Blood Tree tomorrow at dawn, I'll try and let Tigerstar know what's going on so she can help too. For now, we all head home, rest, and prepare for the coming battle," Star meowed, taking his kits home.
